Authenticity

So here's the deal.

Until now I have never liked a picture of myself.

One reason might be that until recently I had yet to find the genius that is Maundy Mitchell (photographer). Another reason might be that since I was a child I have absorbed the negativity and the judgment from outside. You're too X, you're not enough Y, etc.

Here are a few of the images I received this week. I love that they show the real me. Not the buttoned up - acceptable version of me.

Perhaps its age, or wisdom, or tenacity, but whatever it is I am done letting those forces dictate my life. I am proud of what I have accomplished. I have a depth of experience and knowledge that only I can bring to the table. I have an incredible work ethic and I love my clients. I take great pride in hearing of their accomplishments and I am proud to be part of their success.

I am proud of my academic accomplishments, including a PhD from an Ivy. I am proud of my artistic creations over the years, and I am proud to be the owner of a 100% woman-owned business. But, I am equally proud to be a good friend, to be the mother of a trans son, and to be a out and proud single mom. You never have to hide who you are with me. I am a safe space. So, if you are looking for an IP attorney with colorful hair, tattoos, a sharp wit, a sharp mind, and a heart of gold. I'm your girl.

I wish you all a great weekend. Do something for yourself. You are worth it.
